Our Parish Priest, Mass times and parking


Below is information about services taking place over the Holy Week period

Father Emmanuel will be with us for many of the Masses and will be able to hear confessions


Monday 26th – Rosary 9.10am and Mass 9.30am in Winchcombe and Tewkesbury, Confessions 7.00pm Winchcombe

Tuesday 27th – Rosary 9.10am and Mass 9.30am – both Bishop’s Cleeve and Tewkesbury,

Wednesday 28th – No Masses in our parishes – All priests and deacons attend Chrism Mass in Clifton

Thursday 29th – Office or Readings and Morning Prayer 9.30am in Bishop’s Cleeve and Tewkesbury, Mass of the Last Supper  (** see

below)  7.30pm in Winchcombe and Tewkesbury, followed by Watch until midnight.

Friday 30th [Fasting and Abstinence] Office of Readings and Morning Prayer 9.00am in Winchcombe and Tewkesbury.

Procession of Witness through town 10am from St Peter’s Winchcombe and Tewkesbury Baptist Church.  Taize Good Friday devotions 7.30pm at Tewkesbury.

Saturday 31st Office or Reading & Morning Prayer 9.30am in Winchcombe and Tewkesbury.  Polish Service – Blessing of Easter Baskets 6.00pm Tewkesbury.

N.B. No evening vigil at Bishop’s Cleeve – Easter Vigil Masses 9.00pm Winchcombe and Tewkesbury.

Sunday 1st April  9.00am Mass Tewkesbury, 11.00am Mass Winchcombe and 5.30pm at Bishop’s Cleeve (Father Emmanuel departs)

Saint Joseph’s in Tewkesbury, in the diocese of Clifton, has been served by Father Peter Slocombe since February 2013.  Father Peter (pictured top above in a visit to the U.S.A.) is also Parish Priest at Saint Nicholas’ Church, Winchcombe, where he has ministered for over ten years (see bottom photograph above) . Father Peter also serves Mass at Saint Michael’s and All Angels in Bishops Cleeve –  a church which the Catholics in the area share with the Anglican community.   To catch up on news from Winchcombe or to see what news there is from Clifton, click on the links below.



With the assistance of Father John Taylor and Deacon John Torr in Tewkesbury,  it is normally possible for Catholics in the area to attend Mass five days out of seven and for them to take part in a prayer service of some kind every day except Monday.

Mid-week Mass times vary from time to time, depending on the liturgical season, holiday arrangements etc.   Visitors to our parish will be pleased to know that the church has a good sized car park adjacent to the church, with no charges for those attending services at St Joseph’s.  Please see the current newsletters on a later page for information on what is going on this week.
